Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award to Allahabad Bank
Allahabad Bank has been awarded Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award for
excellent performance in regard to Official Language implementation. The Chairman &
Managing Director Shri O.N.Singh received Rajbhasha Award from the Union Home Minister
Shri Shivraj Patil at award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 14th
September,2005. The Bank achieved third position in Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award
Competition for the year 2003-04.
The Reserve Bank of India has also awarded to Allahabad Bank, first prize
in Region A and fourth prize in Region B under Reserve Bank
Rajbhasha Shield competition 2003-04 meant for public sector Banks/Financial Institutions.
Founded at the holy city of Allahabad, the confluence of sacred rivers the
Ganga, the Yamuna & the Saraswati on 24th April,1865, Allahabad Bank is the oldest
nationalised Bank of the country which is rendering its courteous services to the nation
for the last 141 years and is committed towards implementation of Official Language as per
expectations of Govt. of India & RBI.
