SHRI M.R.NAYAK JOINS  ALLAHABAD BANK AS  EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Shri M.R.Nayak has joined Allahabad Bank as Executive Director with effect from, 22nd January, 2010 in terms of the Notification issued by the Ministry of Finance (Banking Division), Government of India. Before joining Allahabad Bank as Executive Director, Shri Nayak was the General Manager of Corporation Bank at its Head Office, Mangalore.                   .

Born on the 13th May, 1952,  Shri Nayak  did his graduation in Commerce from the University of Mysore and joined Corporation Bank in 1971. He is an Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai. Shri Nayak worked in various capacities in important locations such as Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi while working at Corporation Bank. He handled Branch Operations including those concentrated with Foreign Exchange Business. Shri Nayak also handled Treasury and International Banking Division of Corporation Bank and during his tenure, the Treasury Operations of Corporation Bank were integrated into one, bringing together the domestic and Forex treasuries. He played a pivotal role in taking up many new initiatives in Treasury such as Gold Banking Products, active participation in Equity Market, retailing in Government Securities etc. and was instrumental in introducing import of bullion by the Bank-one of the first in Banking Industry.

Shri Nayak held many important positions in Corporation Bank and headed Bangalore Zone of the Bank as General Manager. He also led the Delhi Zone successfully and during his tenure, the Zone witnessed phenomenal growth in business. He also handled  Credit Policy and Monitoring, Retail Lending, Priority Sector Credit, SME Credit, Bancassurance etc. at Corporation Bank.

Shri Nayak widely travelled  for developing International Banking  Business of Corporation Bank and won a number of laurels including Chairman’s Club Awards, SOGian Award , Millennium Award etc.
